• Ukraine Lab

UKRAINE LAB is an online writing residency for six emerging writers from Ukraine and the United Kingdom. In partnership with PEN Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute, the Ukrainian Institute London will support the authors developmentally and financially to produce creative nonfiction pieces which will tackle global challenges through the prism of Ukraine. UKRAINE LAB is supported by the British Council under the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture 2022.

Discover Ukraine through history

This online course is for anyone who is interested in Ukrainian history. The course will discuss contested historical issues from the legacy of Kyivan Rus to contemporary perceptions of the Donbas. It will examine the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-21, the Holodomor, and the Second World War, looking at questions of individual survival, collective resistance and national culture.

The Ukrainian Institute London is delighted to announce Ukrainian Literature in Translation Prize 2022. For this year’s competition, we will accept translations from the Ukrainian language into English of short prose and poetry that focuses on Russia’s war in Ukraine.
